In 2023, Oakfield Betterment Committee (OBC) members launched the Boxcar Derby as part of the Labor Daze Festival, introducing a new and highly successful event that brought additional energy and excitement to the weekend.

As an organization committed to fostering ideas and building community experiences, OBC was proud to support the event’s growth and approve its continuation into 2024 as part of our ongoing festival lineup.

Since then, the original organizer has chosen to develop the Boxcar Derby independently under a new organization. While the event will no longer be part of the Labor Daze Festival, OBC remains proud of the role we played in helping bring it to life and wishes the new organization continued success.

OBC will continue focusing on creating and supporting new experiences that enhance Labor Daze and strengthen our community.
