The Oakfield Betterment Committee (OBC) will be holding its 2017 "Labor Day Festival" Celebration in the Elroy D. Parkins Town Park, 37 Drake Street, Oakfield NY, on Monday, September 5th .  This celebration is a family-oriented weekend with many fun filled, alcohol-free events.

As you are aware, many local community gatherings and carnivals are disappearing due to restrictive laws, lack of funding, and difficulty maintaining a volunteer base. The Oakfield Betterment Committee is dedicated to making sure that our local event continues to be a tradition for our town. Due to the same difficulties facing other communities, we are scaling back to a one day event for 2017, but it will still have most of the features our attendees look forward to each year.

The 2017 celebration consists of first-rate live entertainment, children's activities, car cruise, parade, and food vendors. Non-profit groups from Oakfield and surrounding areas, including Alex's Lemonade stand, operate food and beverage stands and various games and other fundraisers at the event, making this celebration an important part of our local nonprofit organizations' finances.

In addition to Labor Day, the funds raised by Oakfield Betterment are used for several Oakfield-Alabama Central School scholarships, plus fun and meaningful community events such as the annual Earth Day Clean-up, outdoor family movie nights in Oakfield Town Park, 5k fun runs for various causes, and a Community Thanksgiving Dinner. We are also planning to have an event featuring and supporting local small businesses at the Lions Club Christmas in Oakfield. All of these events are free to the public.

Last year we are hosted a 5k run and walk to benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Association of WNY. Pancre-atic cancer is the most lethal type; only 6% of those diagnosed survive 5 years. This disease has impact-ed many in our community, and we are proud that we helped raise awareness and donated over $1400 to support research and help families dealing with this terrible disease.

Without financial assistance from generous sponsors such as your company, these events would not be possible, so thank you in advance for your continuous support. Enclosed is a list of sponsorship levels available. Each level of sponsorship provides different benefits as explained below. Please review the options available to you, and I will be in contact with you in the near future to answer any questions that you may have. (Gold Sponsorship will have your business advertised on the OBC website and social me-dia, as well as featured at all of the OBC events)
